GM Educator Discount

GM Educator Discount

Education is the foundation upon which the future prospects of every generation is built. This is because education in all its various forms supplies all of us with the tools we need to solve complex problems, build a better future, and make a living. Yet, educators rarely get the respect they deserve for their hard work in and out of the classroom.

At Valley Chevy, we want to support our educators and recognize their contribution to society by offering them a special discount on their very own Chevrolet vehicle. Whether you teach first-grade math or you’re a professor of physics, you deserve a reliable ride to and from work, the grocery store, the gym, the occasional weekend getaways — the possibilities are endless.

If you’re currently employed by a school, you can apply for the GM Educator Discount. Eligible participants can also use their privileges with Chevy to sponsor other family members. Sounds too good to be true? It really isn’t. We’ll explain how this works below.

Overview of Rules & Guidelines

General Motors (GM), the parent company of Chevrolet, provides the General Motors Educator Discount Program (The Program) to assist eligible participants with purchasing or leasing new or unused vehicles at any participating dealership.

When purchasing a vehicle via the GM Educator Discount program, both the Participant and/or Sponsored Purchaser must acknowledge and agree to abide by the Rules and Guidelines of The Program. The Participant is responsible for knowing the rules of The Program and must also make these rules known to the Sponsored Purchaser. If the Participant fails to abide by these rules, sanctions may be brought against the Participant.

Though we hope to keep this program alive for many years to come, it may be withdrawn at any time. In addition to this, GM reserves the right to make changes to the terms. Lastly, any and all decisions related to interpreting a rule, phrase, or term in The Program rests with General Motors.

It is important to note that some employees may be subject to limitations that restrict their ability to accept this offer, including employees of municipal and state governments.

As a result of this, this offer is void unless permitted by the state and municipals rules, codes of conduct, policies, ordinances, regulations, laws, and any additional standards or directives governing gift acceptance and ethics. Upon accepting this offer, you confirm that The Program complies with all restrictions regarding codes of ethics and gift acceptance rules that are applicable to you.

Unfortunately, The Program cannot be applied to a previous lease or purchase. The Program also does not provide discounts on used or pre-owned models. Additionally, in order to participate in The Program, you must be a resident of the United States.

Who is Eligible for the GM Educator Discount

Unfortunately, not all educators are eligible for the GM Educator Discount. Only current employees of the following institutions and/or sectors (from preschool all the way through to college) will be considered eligible applicants.

  • Public School
  • Private School
  • College
  • University

Note, however, that the discount applies not only to literal educators in the classroom, but also support staff, faculty, and administrators.

Sponsored Purchasers

Eligible participants also have the amazing opportunity to pass their savings on to other members of the family. These members include the following.

  • Spouse, including a same-sex domestic partner (SSDP).
  • Dependent children and step-children under the age of 21.
  • Children and step-children who are full-time students and under the age of 25.

Please note that GM recognizes the rights of SSDPs as the same as spouses. As a result of this, the children and stepchildren of SSDPs are accorded the same privileges as the children and stepchildren of spouses.

Required Documentation

When you visit Valley Chevy to purchase your new car using this discount, please bring the following documentation with you.

  • Valid authorization number received at the time of application.
  • Copy of the Participant’s driver’s license with the driver’s license number redacted.

In addition to this, please also bring one of the following:

  • Copy of the Participant’s valid school badge or identification card.
  • Copy of a pay stub issued within the past 30 days with all information redacted excepting the date, the name of the Participant (payee) and the name of the school (payer).

Participants may also be asked to present proof of relation to Sponsored Purchasers, including but not limited to the following on this list.

  • Birth certificates
  • Copies of marriage licenses or certificates
  • Registration/title information

Please ensure you submit all necessary documentation to verify your eligibility status because General Motors reserves the right to conduct audits of dealership records. This may lead to the disqualification of any sales that do not meet the guidelines set out by the company. In addition to this, any money paid to any party of The Program not considered in line with the guidelines will need to be returned.

Educator Vehicle Limitations

Participants and their Sponsored Purchasers may only lease or buy two vehicles in total under The Program.

Which AZ Chevy Dealerships Participate in This Discount

Dealership participation is voluntary, so if you have visited a GM dealership before that refused to provide this discount, please know this is not a reflection of all of us. All you need to do is find a Valley Chevy dealership near you to get your purchase process started.
