All-New 2021 Chevy Suburban
The Chevy Suburban has been a leader among SUVs for the better part of a century (85 years), and now it’s bigger and better than ever. The enormous three-row SUV has been completely redesigned, and it’s clear that the engineers at Chevy put a lot of hard work into this vehicle. It’s built on the same foundation as the newest Silverado and the new Tahoe, which should already tell you you’re in for a tremendous experience when you get behind the wheel of this large, truck-based SUV.
2021 Chevy Suburban Engine Options
The big difference is that the active fuel management system in both engines have been replaced with Dynamic Fuel Management to make them more efficient. This change is designed to help with fuel economy, especially since the new Suburban is so large and heavy even compared to its previous model years. The 2021 Suburban may not get the same gas mileage as the most recent Chevy Spark, but it’s surprisingly eco-friendly given the size and power.
There’s also a completely new engine for the 2021 Chevy Suburban that has been making waves among SUV enthusiasts. It’s a Duramax 3.0-liter I-6 turbodiesel, and it’s available on every trim level of the new Suburban except for the Z71 trim. That makes this the only full-size SUV with a diesel engine in the United States, which is certainly something to celebrate. It crates 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s also the most fuel-efficient engine option for the 2021 Chevy Suburban, which makes it attractive to people who plan to take a lot of long road trips in their roomy SUV.
2021 Suburban Performance
Two of the engine options for the new Suburban are recognizable if you’re familiar with previous models:
- 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque
- 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque
2021 Suburban Interior
At first glance, you can see that the Suburban has grown. As a result, the already-roomy interior is even more spacious than it already was. Combine all of that legroom and headroom with features like a panoramic roof, and you’ll have all the comforts of home even when you’re far from it. The roof and some large windows allow more natural light into the interior as well, making life more pleasant when you have to spend several hours in your vehicle.
In addition to being comfortable and being able to bask in natural light, you’ll be well-connected thanks to the standard 10-inch color touchscreen and the state of the art infotainment system it controls. There are other great driver information features available too, including an eight-inch instrument cluster, a 4.2-inch driver information center, and an enormous 15-inch head-up display. This is the first head-up display ever available in an SUV, and we couldn’t be happier that it’s here.
Don’t worry about your backseat passengers, because they’re not left out when it comes to the excellent technology in this vehicle. 12.6-inch screens are available on the backs of the two front seats, and each of them can play something different if your passengers can’t agree on something to watch. Better still, enjoy Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, accessible USB and power outlets, and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot to keep all your favorite technology in play.
