If you’re looking for an affordable 2023 electric SUV, you’re probably looking for a Chevy. The American auto company has a reputation for making competitive EVs and pricing them much lower than the rest of the market. Now Chevrolet is expanding its line of hybrid and electric vehicles to make its fuel-saving technology accessible across more types of models.

Chevrolet's New Electric SUV Models

Chevrolet has committed to going all-electric by 2035 and is already taking significant steps in that direction. The latest news is that the Equinox and Blazer will both be available as all-electric vehicles sometime in 2023. Chevrolet confirmed the two electric crossovers at CES in Las Vegas in early 2022 and has been releasing nuggets of information ever since.

Chevrolet's Hybrid SUVs

If you can’t wait until these EVs come out in 2023, or if you’re not quite ready to jump all the way to an all-electric vehicle, you might prefer one of Chevy’s hybrid SUVs. Chevrolet has been making hybrid SUVs for years already, and many of the hybrid models have received rave reviews. Because Chevy’s hybrid SUVs are tried and tested, drivers can purchase a new one with greater confidence or even choose a used one to stretch their budgets further.

Electric Blazer Is Coming, Too

Returning to the topic of full-electric vehicles, this future Chevy SUV is also making some news. The first Blazer EV will be available with multiple trim levels, colors, and battery ranges. It will technically be the 2024 model year, but the 2024 Blazer EV is expected to arrive on dealership lots during the second half of the 2023 calendar year.

The estimated 2024 Blazer EV MSRP is expected to start slightly under $45,000. That’s a terrific deal for such a competent SUV, especially one powered with pure electricity. Still, cost-conscious drivers might want to keep reading for an even better price.

The Equinox EV Will Start Around $30,000

The Equinox EV MSRP is expected to start at roughly $30,000. That makes it less than half the price of the average electric SUV ($65,000) in the United States. Even at that low price, Chevrolet extends an 8-year/ 100,000-mile Battery Limited Warranty to give drivers some additional peace of mind. This vehicle offers a truly unbeatable combination of value, technology, and reliability.

Equinox EV Range Power

The available range for the first-ever Equinox EV is expected to be up to 300 miles on a full charge. That’s more than enough for most daily drivers, plus a good deal of short road trips. For reference, that range is just enough to get you from Phoenix to Flagstaff (144 miles) and then back home again without the need to recharge. There’s no reason to cut it close, though, because it won’t take long to top off your range at a fast-charging station along the way.

Quick-Charging Equinox

GM estimates that the 2024 Equinox EV (available fall 2023) will be able to add approximately 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes at a DC fast public charging station. All it takes is a quick pit stop and charging session to get you back on the road.

Explore GM Electric Vehicles 2023

We can’t wait to hear more about the Silverado EV and the Chevy Tahoe electric vehicle, which should be available in the next few years. Until then, we’re excited by the latest progress toward an all-electric Chevy lineup. The addition of the Equinox and Blazer as electric vehicles will make it easier for even more drivers to leave the gas pumps behind.
