Chevy Electric Blazer to Take on Ford Mustang Mach-E

The all-new Chevy Blazer EV is a stunning and impressive all-electric crossover. The new Blazer has a much different look than its gas-powered counterpart. Many people think that the Blazer EV looks more like the Mustang Mach-E than it does the gas-powered Blazer. And while the new Blazer EV may share some similarities with Ford's all-electric crossover, once you take a closer look, you can tell that these are two very different vehicles. Here is a look at how the new 2024 Blazer EV compares to the Ford Mach-E.

Interior Design: A Tech Dream

The Mach-E and the new Blazer EV utilized the latest technology to make the vehicles more convenient and safe. However, the Blazer EV has taken things further than the Mach-E.

The Mach-E comes equipped with a large 15.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 10-inch driver display. The Mach-E also has a spacious interior that features a simplistic style. A fixed glass roof allows the natural sunlight to flow into the cabin. However, if you feel that you are getting too much sun, there is no shade or way to block the sun.

The Blazer EV has a much more interesting interior design. The SS model comes equipped with a stylish interior that features premium materials and a bold two-tone color scheme. There is also a flat-bottom steering wheel that helps to give the interior a more sporty look. Sitting in the center of the dash is an extra-large 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment display that is expected to come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A massive 11-inch driver display also sits right behind the steering wheel and can be customized to show you the most important information.

Range & Performance: SS vs. GT

While the Mustang name has always been synonymous with speed and power, the new Mustang Mach-E comes up short regarding range and performance.

The 2022 Mach-E comes standard with a 69 kWh battery pack that can deliver 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque when paired with the rear-wheel-drive system. However, the GT model offers an 88 kWh battery pack that can deliver 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. The GT model can come with either rear-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive. Depending on which model you choose, the Mach-E can travel anywhere from 211 miles to 305 miles on a single charge.

The all-electric Blazer SS model has a powerful electric motor that can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. This powerful motor delivers 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque. The Blazer EV is offered in four trim levels, each providing an impressive range. The Blazer EV allows you to travel between 247 and 320 miles on a single charge.

Pricing Comparison: Blazer EV vs. Mach-E

When it comes to the price, the Blazer EV and the Mustang Mach-E are about the same price. The price for each model is as follows:

Mach-E

  • Select - $43,895
  • Premium - $48,775
  • CA Route 1 - $52,450
  • GT - $61,995

Blazer EV

  • 1LT - $44,995
  • 2LT - $47, 595
  • RS - $51,995
  • SS - $65,995

As you can see, the prices are neck and neck. However, with the Blazer EV, you get more range, a more spacious interior, and better technology for the same price.

A Trim for Every Driver

The Blazer EV will come in four different trim levels. Each trim comes equipped with a wide range of impressive standard features.

The base model is called the 1LT. This model comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, an electric motor with a range of 247 miles, the extra-large 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and the 11-inch driver display. This model also comes standard with the Chevy Safety Assist system, which has a wide range of driver-assist features, including Lane Keep Assist, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Forward Collision Alert.

Moving up a level is the 2LT trim. This model comes with everything that the 1LT comes with. However, there are a few added features. This trim allows the electric motor to travel around 293 miles on a single charge. An all-wheel-drive system and Chevy's Super Cruise driver-assist are available.

The RS trim comes equipped with 21-inch wheels, a black-painted grille panel, and new molding on the front fascia. The RS model comes equipped with a front-wheel-drive, but RWD and eAWD are available. With RWD, the RS trim has a range of around 320 miles.

The SS trim level is the sportiest and most athletic model. This trim level comes standard with massive 22-inch wheels and offers the Wide Open Watts (WOW) performance mode that allows the vehicle to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds.
