The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has had a rather plain and uninspiring interior since its unveiling in 2018. General Motors upped their game and gave the 2022 Chevy Silverado a fabulous interior makeover and other aspects. If you are interested in buying the 2022 Chevy Silverado in Phoenix, Az when it premieres in the spring of 2022, here are some updates.

The Bolder Exterior

The Chevy Silverado had an expressive and bold exterior. The 2022 model improves on this and makes the body even bolder. All trims of the Silverado 2022 get a novel front grill design and face. The headlights dip lower, emphasizing the truck's stability and strength. The daytime running lights now feature animated sequences that change when you approach, start or walk away from the Chevy Silverado.

The Plush Interior

The new Silverado's interior has a 13.4-inch infotainment display inside a luxurious open-pore wood trim dashboard. The display operates on an Android Automotive OS (operating system). The new interior incorporates stainless steel speaker grille and leather seats, making the Chevy Silverado look and feel sleeker.

The touchscreen of the Chevy Silverado is the centerpiece of the entire interior. The infotainment system supports Amazon Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Google's in-built technologies.

Super Cruise

The only other Chevy with the Super Cruise technology is the Bolt EUV. Super Cruise is a driver assistance technology that allows you to drive hands-free. You can use this technology on compatible roads spanning more than 32,000 km throughout the US and Canada.

Super Cruise uses numerous tech features, including precision LiDAR map data and a Driver Attention System (DAS). The DAS utilizes a tiny camera on the steering column, using infrared lights to tell where your eyes are when the technology is in operation.

If the DAS detects your gaze has diverted from the road for too long, the steering wheel light prompts you to return your gaze to the road. If the system detects that the inattentiveness continues, it uses audible and visible alerts to notify you to take control of the vehicle.

You can use Super Cruise when trailering with the Silverado. However, you must use special calibrations that account for the increased braking distance and extra drag accompanying trailering. Super Cruise also offers Automatic Lane Change and Lane Change on Demand when not trailing.

Better Powertrains

You have four engines you can choose from:

6.2 and 5.3L V8 Engines

The 6.2L and 5.3L V8 engines have no changes for the 2022 Chevy, but have a 10-speed automatic transmission.

3.0L Turbo

The Duramax 3.0L inline- 6-diesel engine has not changed. You can now choose the Max Tow Package with the 2022 Silverado from the chassis upgrades. This option means the Duramax engine has an improved tow rating of up to 13300 lbs., up from 9300 lbs.

2.7L Turbo Engine

The 2.7 turbo engine has improved internal components and a more unyielding cylinder block. The turbo engine now has 310 horsepower and a torque of 420 lb.-ft, a 20% increase. The torque increase also enhances its towing power up to 9,500 lbs. in a 2-wheel drive configuration. The 2.7L turbo engine compliments an 8-speed transmission.

Silverado ZR2

The 2022 Silverado has some great new features and improved older ones. Many people complained about the previous model's interior, and GM outdid themselves on the 2022 model. The sleek and modern infotainment allows you to use Android or iOS, and the Super Cruise technology is the best update for the 2022 Silverado.

This feature allows you to drive hands-free and alerts if your attention wavers from the road. The four-engine options, two- turbo and two naturally aspirated, give you a wider choice.
