The most affordable electric car in America is a Chevy

More and more people are starting to trade in their gas-burning vehicles in exchange for a more eco-friendly electric vehicle. When it comes to creating new EVs, almost every automotive manufacturer has thrown their hat in the ring. While there may be a lot of electrified options to choose from, only Chevy has created an EV that is both well-equipped and budget-friendly. Here is a look at the 2022 Chevrolet electric car lineup.

Chevy EV Models

This year, Chevy is introducing two innovative electric SUVs. While one of the models has technically been on the market for several years, it is receiving a complete redesign this year that makes it look and feel like a brand new model.

All-Electric 2022 Bolt EV

The Chevy Bolt EV is not a new vehicle. However, it has received several new upgrades, making it seem almost unrecognizable. The exterior features sleek and slender LED headlights. The rest of the hatchback has a compact design that is outlined by swooping lines and elongated curves, which helps to give it an elegant appearance. The body is also outlined in black accents, which gives the vehicle a stunning floating roof design.

The interior has also been redesigned and now features a sportier appearance. The seats are wrapped in soft cloth upholstery, providing a comfortable place to sit. The race-inspired steering wheel has a flat bottom and sits in front of the standard 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The Bolt EV also comes standard with an extra-large 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless charging station and Wi-Fi hotspot are available.

What makes the 2022 Bolt EV so special is that even though it offers new standard features, it has a starting price of around $5,000 less than the previous year's model.

All-Electric 2022 Bolt EUV

The Bolt EUV (Electric Utility Vehicle) is making its debut this year. In many ways, it is similar to the Bolt EV. However, there is also a wide range of unique features that can only be found on the EUV.

The exterior has a similar design and also features slender LED headlights, a solid grille, and a sleek and sculpted body. One of the most notable differences is that the EUV is slightly taller, wider, and longer and has a more muscular body.

The interior offers as much room as you would expect to find in a compact SUV. The front and back seats have enough legroom and headspace to accommodate tall occupants comfortably. The large rear cargo area is easily accessible by lifting the wide and tall back liftgate.

Like the EV, the EUV also comes standard with a large digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. The standard 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display comes equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa.

Chevrolet Electric Vehicle Specifications

Both of these vehicles have impressive electric capabilities. Here is a look at how these two vehicles' electric motors compare

All-Electric 2022 BOLT EV Specification

The Chevy Bolt EV for 2022 comes with a powerful electric motor that allows the vehicle to travel up to 259 miles when fully charged. This year, the Bolt EV is introducing a dual-level charging system. Level 1 will allow you to plug it into a 120-volt outlet. The level 2 charger allows you to use a 240-volt outlet and can fully charge in around seven hours by increasing the speed to 11kWh.

All-Electric 2022 BOLT EUV Specification

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV uses a 65-kWh battery pack that provides up to 200 horsepower and can travel up to 247 miles on a single charge. Owners of the EUV will also have the option of charging the battery on either a 120-volt home outlet or a 240-volt fast-charging outlet. If you can find a DC fast-charging unit, you can plug the EUV into it and get up to 95 additional miles with just 30 minutes of charging.

Chevrolet Electric Cars

Chevy is nowhere near finished creating innovative electric vehicles. They plan on rolling out more all-electric SUVs and even pickup trucks in the near future.

The all-electric Silverado will provide the same ruggedness, and versatility drivers expect to find in this iconic truck. However, it will now feature a futuristic exterior design and a powerful all-electric motor. The impressive no-gas motor can produce up to 660 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. The new all-electric Silverado can travel up to 400 miles on a single charge and go from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds.

The all-electric Blazer and all-electric Equinox will also be making their debut in the near future. Both vehicles will come fully equipped with a powerful electric motor and a wide range of high-tech features.
