Chevrolet's car lineup for the 2022 model year is shaping up to be pretty exciting. Although Chevy has recently discontinued some models, including the Sonic, Volt, and Cruze, they have some new and updated models in the works. 

The Corvette and Camaro, Chevy's performance icons and mainstays, will get minor updates for the new year, including slight modifications to the engine calibration. Surprisingly, the Chevy Spark - bowtie hatchback - is still on for the 2022 year model, although Chevrolet has announced to cease its production in August.

2022 Chevrolet Spark

With its last production slated for August, the 2022 Chevy Spark is still a viable option for those looking for a small and affordable hatchback. The Spark comes equipped with a 1.4L turbocharged engine that makes 98 hp at 6,200 rpm and 94 lb-ft of torque that delivering a solid and compact ride.

2022 Chevrolet Malibu

Like Spark, Malibu faces production discontinuation in 2023. However, that doesn't make the 2022 Chevy Malibu any less appealing. Although it comes with a $700 price hike and is relatively unchanged from the 2021 model, the Malibu boasts solid handling with reliable ride control. 

Its fuel economy has been slightly improved for the new model year and gets up to 29 MPG City, 36 MPG highway, and 32 MPG combined. The 1VL equipment and L trim will be unavailable as the Dark Ash Metallic and Mineral Gray Metallic exterior colors replace the Black Cherry Metallic and Shadow Gray Metallic. 

The electronic car parking brake and 8-inch diagonal Chevrolet infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard on all models. 2022 Chevrolet Camaro

The Camaro - Chevy's iconic sports car - is also receiving a few updates for the 2022 model year. Chevy scrapped the Shock and Crush paint choices and added Rapid Blue and Vivid Orange Metallic as extra-cost colors. The SS and ZL1 trims feature a new copper-free Brembo brake system that reduces the vehicle's overall weight. 

Chevy is also discontinuing the LT 1LE track package for the 2022 model year but has added a Design package with enhanced aesthetic features. Under the hood, the Camaro's V8 engine has been recalibrated to offer better performance. The LT1 V8 makes 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, while the SS model's V8 produces 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. 

All models come with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the 20-inch aluminum Caliente-style wheels that come standard on the 2SS and ZL1 models will be unavailable. 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV

2022 Chevrolet Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most iconic and loved sports cars globally, and for the 2022 model year, it's receiving a few much-needed updates. The Z51 package's front splitter and low-profile spoiler are available options for the regular C8 versions. The Stingray's 6.2-liter V-8 base engine has been upgraded with a new direct-injection fuel system and returned fuel management, making it even more powerful and exciting to drive. 

Producing a whopping 490 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque in the standard model and495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque in the performance exhaust version, the C8 Corvette is sure to turn heads when driving down the street.
