THE SILVERADO ADVANTAGE
In the battle of full-sized pickups, two top contenders are the Dodge Ram and Chevy Silverado. Both offer great features, solid performance and plenty of benefits. But which is the best choice?
If you compare Chevy Silverado vs. Dodge Ram in various categories, you’ll find that the Chevy Silverado offers plenty of advantages over the Dodge. For example, when it comes to awards, the 2018 Chevy Silverado is at the top of its class for towing and the winner of the JD Power Award for Most Dependable Large Pickup three years in a row!

The 2018 Silverado offers a choice of Regular, Double and Crew Cab models, two- and four-wheel drive and three bed lengths so you can design your perfect pickup. With a redesign for 2018, the new Silverado includes a steel frame that is lighter for better efficiency, keeping the full steel bed, and offering fresh new lines for the cab.
The Ram’s redesigned front end is distinguished by pig-light nostrils, but it remains lackluster and very similar to the 2015 model. With only four models to choose from, the Ram is much more difficult to customize than the Silverado.Download Brochure
Silverado’s cabin features significantly more head and legroom than the Ram, and it includes a rear-view camera standard on all models. It also features a six-speaker audio system, tire fill alert and tire monitoring all standard on all models. Plus, the Chevy Silverado offers more USB ports and the Chevy MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen standard.
While the Ram offers some of these features at the lower trim levels, you’ll need to spend more money on a higher trim level to get all them.
Chevy offers one of the best technology packages in the industry. The Chevrolet MyLink system offers Bluetooth connectivity and hands-free calling and navigation. The infotainment system also offers voice recognition and real-time weather updates. On top of that, the Silverado offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard.
In comparison, Ram’s UConnect infotainment system doesn’t offer the feature set of MyLink. It is not as intuitive to operate and doesn’t offer as many connectivity options as the Chevy Silverado does.
The 2018 Silverado offers plenty of advanced safety features like available lane keep assist, front and rear park assist, rear vision camera (standard in all models) and side blind zone alert. The Silverado also features Autonomous Emergency Braking as a standard feature.
The Ram offers blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning, but it is not as thorough as the Silverado in terms of advanced safety features at the lower trim levels.
