With up to 53 miles on a fully-charged battery and a whopping 420 miles of range with a complete charge and full tank of gas, the amazing Chevy Volt needs fewer fuel stops, letting you focus on your commute. Plus, Chevrolet expects Volt owners will drive 1000 miles between fill-ups with regular charging, making weekly visits to the gas station a distant memory.

Engineering Efficiency

Volt is the electric car with a backup plan. With a standard 1.5L direct injected high-efficiency engine, the Volt runs on an electrical charge and uses a gas-powered generator to create additional energy when the battery runs out – giving you the confidence and ability to go as far as you need to.

Part of its improved acceleration can be attributed to the new, redesigned battery system. The 18.4kWh battery pack has been reduced from 288 to 192 cells, reducing the overall weight by 21 pounds and fitting into a tighter, more compact gravity-centered case.

Two electric motors are used in unison to power the Volt. Together they optimize efficiency and conserve the electric charge while providing responsive power and torque.

The Power is in Your Hands

The 2017 Chevy Volt provides you with more ways to charge and monitor your battery than ever before. The innovative Power Flow screen helps track your driving, while Re-gen On Demand uses the kinetic energy from the vehicles forward motion and stores it in the battery when braking the vehicle as soon as you engage a paddle mounted on the steering column.

Charging options
Your Volt recharges in approximately 13 hours with a 120-volt portable cord, or in approximately 4.5 hours with a professionally installed 240-volt charging system.

Location Based Charging
Using GPS data, a programmable “home” setting for charging allows you to charge Volt during times when off-peak electrical rates are in effect at home saving you money, but will always begin charging immediately when you’re away from home.

Brilliant in Every Detail

The Volt combines finely-tuned aerodynamics with striking good looks. Details like the stylish recess that moves air seamlessly from front to back to maximize efficiency showcase Volt’s bold attitude setting it apart from any other electric car in its class.

The Volt was designed, both inside and out, to be a stunning leader in its class while being intuitive and truly fun to drive.

Innovation In Safety

The Volt utilizes a series of innovative safety systems along with cutting-edge response technology to help protect you before, during and after any possible collision.
