THE TECHNOLOGY
Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system comes standard with all Malibu trims, other than the base. This system provides you with a large touchscreen and includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, WiFI hotspot and a rearview camera.
The Fusion has the SYNC 3 infotainment system as an optional upgrade for the second trim level and higher. Comparing similar trim levels, the Malibu is the more feature-rich choice if you don’t want to pay more for the better options.
SAFETY FIRST
Standard features on the 2018 Chevy Malibu include their Rear Seat Reminder feature, in addition to the usual array of airbags and a rearview camera. The optional Teen Driver system allows you to set limits for teenage drivers.
The Ford Fusion is similar to the Malibu with regards to safety, with the same overall five-star rating from the NHTSA. However, its lower scores in front crash and rollover tests make it a little less reliable on the road.
