Chevy Volt Range
The first thing you notice about the Volt’s performance
is that it is primarily designed as an electric car. The 2017 model greatly improves on driving distance and is capable of going 53 miles on a single charge, a notable improvement over previous Volt models that could only go 38 miles.
Performance is also impressive as the electric engine powers a front wheel drive transmission capable of 149 horsepower and can reach 60 MPH within eight seconds.
The Volt is also quite versatile as when electrical power is used up, the second engine activates turning the Volt into a traditional gasoline powered hybrid. The 1.5-liter four cylinder hybrid engine gets an impressive 42 MPG overall and produces 101 horsepower.
When combined the fully charged electric engine and a full gas tank provide 430 miles of driving overall.
