From the moment you set out on the road, technologies like the StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System with traction control are at the ready. On slippery surfaces, StabiliTrak® helps you stay on course by detecting the difference between the path being steered and the direction the vehicle is actually traveling.
It then uses the brakes and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to help you keep your Sonic on track. What's more, four-wheel antilock brakes help maintain control and stability during hard braking by preventing wheel lockup. And Electronic Brake Force Distribution on the front disc and rear drum brakes has panic assist to help optimize stopping power. Sometimes, however, trouble finds you. And if a moderate to severe collision does happen, Sonic is designed to respond quickly as the first car in its class(3) with 10 standard air bags(4).
